Georgette "Jet" Perry

Thousand Oaks, CA

Georgette or Jet, as she was known to friends and family, Perry took her final flight home on Jan 8, 2019. She was 79.

Jet was born in Lafayette, Colorado to George and Madeline (Balme) Bagdonas and was their only child. Jet grew up enjoying the outdoors of Colorado fishing and hiking with her mom and dad at their cabin in Red Feather Lakes.

She graduated from Lafayette HS in 1957. After high school she attended Women’s College of Denver and the University of Colorado, Boulder. She enjoyed friends and being involved in the community while reigning as Ms. Lafayette from 1957-1958.

Not long after graduating from college she was hired by United Airlines as a stewardess. Six years later she went to work for Western Airlines training and preparing new hire stewardesses to fly the line. One of many milestones in her career was being selected as Western’s representative to travel to Seattle and work with and alongside Boeing on the design of the new 747 galley.

The biggest highlight, while working for Western, based and living in Los Angeles, was meeting the love of her life David Perry. They were married, then moved to Thousand Oaks in 1969 where they lived for forty plus years.

Jet was full of life and would light up a room with her smile and energy! She enjoyed traveling, shopping, entertaining, friends, family and Cadillac Margaritas! She especially loved shopping, traveling with friends and family and sipping Cadillac Margaritas along the way!! Her happy hours were truly happy times enjoyed by all that were around her.

Jet is survived by her son Michael and his wife Andrea; and two granddaughters Allyson and Hayden Perry. Georgette loved her family so much, especially “her girls”!

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26 at Griffin Family Funeral Chapels, 101 E. Wilbur Rd., Thousand Oaks. A reception to be announced at the service will follow.
