Jack Rosenthal, 91, died January 4, 2019. He was born in Alton, IL to Morris and Rose Rosenthal. The family, including brothers Herman and Max, moved to Chattanooga, TN in 1932.

 

He graduated Chattanooga High School in 1945 and attended Chattanooga University for one semester, being drafted into the U.S. Army in January 1946. He served in the U.S., Japan, and Guam and was discharged in June 1947. He then moved back to Illinois, where he graduated from Washington University in 1951 with a B.S. in accounting.

 

In 1956 he was employed by Kessler & Chervitz CPAs. Later, on November 15, 1957, he met Sandra Renee Spector on a blind date and they were married on June 29, 1958. Their daughter Michele Anne was born in 1959, son Charles Andrew in 1960, son Roger Edwin in 1962, and son Mark Spector in 1973.

 

Jack became a Certified Public Accountant in 1962 and became a partner at Kessler & Chervitz in 1969.  After death of Mr. Kessler in 1972, firm name was changed to Ackerman & Rosenthal. He then started a new firm, Rosenthal, Packman & Co. in 1988.

 

Jack is survived by his Beloved wife of 60 years Sandy; beloved children Michele (Bill) Cleckner, Chuck (Angie) Rosenthal, Roger (Ira) Rosenthal, and Mark (Gabe) Rosenthal- Ayres; grandchildren Jason (Melanie) Cleckner, Jeremy (Liz) Cleckner, Ruby Rosenthal, Joshua Rosenthal-Ayres, Clarisse Rosenthal, and Rachael and Samuel Rosenthal-Ayres; great grandchildren Madeleine and Amelia Cleckner; brother-in-law Jerry (Judy) Spector; sister-in-law Charlene Spector; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Private services will be held in St. Louis, MO.
