Douglas John Graham

Camarillo, CA

Douglas John Graham, 68, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on July 12 2018. He was born on May 4 1950 in Santa Monica and moved to Oxnard at 5 years old. He was the great grandson of one of Oxnard's original pioneers, Dominic McGrath.

Doug was a musician who started playing guitar as a child and played in the band "Deacons" in school, performing at various events and high school dances. He went on to develop a love for country and bluegrass music and traveled to Tennessee and throughout California playing guitar and banjo with his band "Cache Valley Drifters." He received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Mary's College and eventually became a rancher.

Doug met his wife Kathy when he was 29 years old and together they raised 3 children. He loved his family, music, tennis, surfing and his beloved dogs. He spent some time singing in the choir at St. Mary Magdalen Church and reunited with the Deacons band where they would rehearse weekly.

He is survived by his wife Kathy, children Jenny Krude (Herbert), Michael Graham, and Amy Graham; brother George Graham (Chris); sister Geraldine Gramckow (Jurgen); mother-in-law Peggy Jennings; sisters-in-law Elaine Becker and Lisa Kehoe; nieces and nephews Shannon, Ryan, Monika, Kurt, Karin, Kimberly and Andrew; dogs Daisy and Lucky; and grandcats Gismo and Candy. He was preceded in death by his parents George Senior and Marian Graham.

He will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts.
