She was the middle child of three children born to George and Lynn Woerfel, older sister Gayle Humphrey (Gordon) of Monroe, WA and younger brother, Marc Woerfel of Santa Barbara.

Her father was a blimp pilot in the United States Navy and the family lived in Cape Cod, Saint Simons Island, Cupertino and Santa Barbara. Later she lived in Santa Monica and then she settled in Thousand Oaks, where she resided for 33 years.

When Shari was growing up, she lived in the Hope Ranch area of Santa Barbara when there were lemon orchards nearby. She attended Hope School and graduated from San Marcos High School in 1964. She later attended Moorpark College and California Lutheran University.

In 1965 Shari married the late Edward T. Marquez. She enjoyed many vacations at Lake Nacimiento with the extended Marquez family. Shari met Charles Palmer in Santa Barbara. They were married in Santa Monica in 1982.

Shari went to work as an operator for GTE as soon as she turned 18. She worked in customer service in Santa Barbara and was a Phone Mart Manager in Marina Del Rey and Westwood. In 1985 she was relocated to Thousand Oaks as a material management administrator for GTEL. Shari retired in Thousand Oaks after 27 years of service with GTE. She continued to work selling and marketing products for various businesses in the Conejo Valley until 2001.

Shari enjoyed playing golf at Sunset Hills Country Club where she was a member for 26 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and her golfing groups, the "Wild Women" and the "Hookers".

Shari is survived by her husband, Charles F. Palmer; daughter, Lia M. Marquez of Santa Barbara; stepdaughter, Dawn Brown (Micah) of Highlands Ranch, CO; and stepson, John Palmer (Yvonne) of Henderson, NV. She loved her nieces, Vianca DeMeo (Michael) of Ladera Ranch and Valerie Morcos (Mina) of Anaheim. She also loved her nephew, Spencer Woerfel of Santa Barbara.

Shari had just returned from a "bucket list" trip to Australia and New Zealand when she was diagnosed with the return of her breast cancer. She fought a hard and courageous battle. She finally was at peace when the Lord opened His Heavenly arms to receive her into. Thank you all for the love and support for Shari during her long journey. She is at peace now and pain free.

Rest in peace my dear Shari.
