Rodrigo "Rod" Sotelo

Camarillo, CA

Mr. Rodrigo "Rod" Sotelo passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018, not alone we believe his brother Roy came for him, as he often said Roy is here for me.

Mr. Sotelo and his family have been prominent members of the Camarillo community for well over 60 years, having come by way of Litchfield Park, Arizona. He retired from the City of Ventura with almost 32 years of service. He was an avid golfer, who won various tournaments throughout Ventura County and the state. If he wasn't on the golf courses he was with his wife Margarita and son Roddy, spending time together and visiting the casinos. He would say they were The Three Musketeers. He was a fan of the Oakland Raiders and the USC Trojans, and would spend the weekends watching games with his son. One of his greatest experiences was to attend a USC football game and see Traveler running around the stadium after USC had scored.

Mr. Sotelo is survived by his wife Margarita; son Rodrigo Jr; brothers Jess, Frank, and Joe; sisters Ernestine and Lupe; numerous nieces and nephews; and his many Godchildren. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Jesus and Guadalupe Sotelo, and his beloved brother Roy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Sotelo touched many people's lives and the family wishes to thank all the family and friends that were there for him in his time of need. The family greatly appreciates the support of staff and friends at FMC - Camarillo Dialysis Center and the gentle care of Camarillo Healthcare Center.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16 at Griffin Family Funeral Chapels, 1075 E. Daily Dr., Camarillo. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 17 at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel, 2532 Ventura Blvd., Camarillo. Interment will follow at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Camarillo.

As he would say, "That's all folks."
