Allan Richard Erickson

Thousand Oaks, CA

Allan Richard Erickson, 77, passed away on Friday, July 7th. A long time member of the Thousand Oaks community, he is survived by his family and wide circle of friends and those touched by his lifelong kindness and acceptance. His house and private mechanical garage in Calle Narciso was the second home of many, and housed his prized hotrod automobiles, for which he was well known; he belonged to the Eliminators and the Ancients Car Clubs and was an avid attendee of the LA Roadster Show. Beginning at the age of 15, with a 1929 Roadster, Allan was a lifelong automobile enthusiast, working as a mechanic in the United States Army in Korean War and then onwards with Kemp Ford for over 20 years until he retired at the age of 65 and continued his work in his own backyard, not allowing cancer to keep him from his work or his daily life.

His loss is deeply felt by his friends, his family and everyone who knew him. He is survived by daughters Tracy Clayton and Jeannette Erickson Barbera, grandchildren Nicholas Clayton, Sheryl Barbera, and Drake Satz, and great-grandchild Taj Clayton.

A service in his honor will be held on July 22nd, at the Elks Lodge in Thousand Oaks, with a military interment in Riverside National Cemetery to follow.
